OVERTIME REMINDER
FROM HOCKEY WINNIPEG

SR-5 Overtime

(h)          If any playoff game, which is the final game of each series (ie. 3rd game of a 3 game series or 5th game of a 5 game series or a 7th game of a 7 game series) goes into overtime, the game shall be played until the game is won.

This can be found on page 84 of our book.


SCHEDULE CHANGES DURING PLAYOFFS:

Please be advised that there have been numerous ice slot revisions submitted over the past three days by a couple of the areas hosting playoffs. Please remind all of your teams (male and female) participating in playoffs that schedule changes do occur and that they should be diligent in checking the Hockey Winnipeg website for any changes to their game time(s).

2014 REEBOK SKILLS SPRING BREAK CAMP presented by Hockey Manitoba & MTS Iceplex

March 31 – April 3, 2014

 

The camp includes great on-ice skill development for Atom & Peewee players along with special off-ice skill development sessions, introduction to fitness training sessions, plus interactive classroom sessions led by highly qualified Hockey Manitoba and Winnipeg Jets Hockey Development instructors.  The goal of the camp is to expose our young athletes from across Manitoba to a premiere skill development program unlike any other camp offered in our province.  Players will enjoy the opportunity to learn and develop their skills in the same world-class NHL practice facility used by countless elite & professional hockey players, including the Winnipeg Jets.

 

Highlights of the camp include:

  • OFF-ICE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SESSIONS

Hockey Manitoba will once again be partnering with Scotiabank to bring you the Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest. With Female hockey currently one of the fastest growing branches of the game in Canada, this event is designed with a specific focus on continuing to grow the game in Manitoba. Open for Novice to Pee Wee level players, this event will allow over 250 girls from across the province to participate in a camp with a focus on skill development both on and off the ice. This event will be held on February 16th in Winnipeg at the MTS Iceplex as well as on February 17th in Brandon at Westman Communications Group Place (Keystone Centre).

 

Female Goaltender Development Camp – February 16th at MTS Iceplex

- for female Novice, Atom and Pee Wee goaltenders

 

This year we will be hosting a female goaltender development camp during our event on February 16th at the MTS Iceplex. This camp will be open for Novice to Pee Wee goaltenders from across the province and will provide them with training specific to their development as a goaltender. The camp includes on and off-ice training as well as the chance to meet and listen to two guest speakers and former Olympians Sami Jo Small and Cherie Piper.  Lunch will also be provided and all participants receive a jersey and additional items from Scotiabank and Hockey Manitoba. This development camp will take place in the afternoon of the February 16th event in Winnipeg with registration beginning at 11:15am and the camp concluding at 4:30pm.

 

There is no fee to attend this camp as all costs are covered by Scotiabank and Hockey Manitoba, but registration for the event fills up fast and spots are limited.

To Sports fans and hockey lovers:

 

The North Dakota Pond Hockey Championship (NDPHC) Committee would like to extend our most sincere invitation for you to participate in the 6th Annual ND State Pond Hockey Championships to be held on Devils Lake, February 15th & 16th, 2014.

 

The tournament has been continually growing over the past years, as 2013 hosted 29 teams. The tournament is open to PeeWees, Bantams, High School and Adult men and women. Can’t Skate? New to this year is a boot hockey division.

 

Bring your families and enjoy a weekend of fun! This event is held during Shiverfest” an annual winter event which hosts activities all weekend long. Enjoy activities such as oval track snowmobile races, ice golf, youth ice fishing tournament, sleigh rides, fireworks and much more! The band 8th Hour will be playing at Proz Lakeside at the Cove Saturday night, right next to the event.
